The purpose of your ACT! CRM system has is tantamount to its success. Typically, CRM systems are created for the purpose of streamlining user-input data into useful information and key performance indicators (KPIs). If a system is designed correctly, then it accomplishes the highest goals any CRM system should have. These goals are split evenly by both management of the organization and then sales team or end-users:

Management
Action: The management must fully endorse and enforce the use of the CRM system through reporting and/or dashboard analysis tools.
Result: Allows the executives to fully encapsulate the book of business and accurately track progress.

Sales Team/End-users
Action: The End-users must be committed to entering information pertinent to the business process.
Result: Allows information to only be entered once thus eliminating redundant and alternative reporting tools (Excel, Word, etc.).

Our origins came from the Enduser side of the business. If a CRM system doesnít work for the end-users, then management will never get the information it needs for reporting and analysis.
